Whitby EcoConference
On December 11th 2008, high school students and teachers from Durham and Durham Catholic gathered at an EcoConference hosted by the Town of Whitby.

Students heard from Jack McGinnis, one of the founders of the blue box program,

enjoyed a rousing Recycling Stomp from Roland Michener and presentations from three high schools featuring their school’s environmental initiatives.

Congratulations to the EcoTeams at Anderson CVI, Dunbarton HS and O’Neill CVI on producing inspiring and entertaining multimedia presentations! You can view Anderson’s video presentation on their school website.

Students and teachers then broke into workshops focusing on ecological literacy, waste minimization, energy conservation and school ground greening.
