Ministry of Education holds Environmental Education Symposium
About 600 people from all 72 of Ontario’s school boards attended the Ministry's symposium on environmental education. A student youth forum was held within the symposium, with 40 students participating from English, French, public and Catholic boards.

The Ministry demonstrated its commitment to environmental education by announcing a new policy framework entitled Acting Today, Shaping Tomorrow, that will incorporate the environment as a part of every subject in every grade.
Starting in Fall 2009, schools will begin implementing this framework, created as part of the advice of the Curriculum Council and recommendations made by a working group on environmental education chaired by Dr. Roberta Bondar. Catherine Mahler from Ontario EcoSchools and Eleanor Dudar from TDSB EcoSchools were also part of the working group.
