How can I get more information on how the online application works?

How do I change my temporary password?
A school will receive a temporary password if they click on the “Forgot your password” section of the sign in page. Once the school has received their temporary password via email they can use it to sign into their application. To change the password click on the “Edit Contact information” section of the application (found on the left hand navigation bar).
How do I register my school?
Go to www.certapp.ontarioecoschools.org and click on the “not registered?” section (right hand side of the Sign In page). Follow the prompts and complete the textboxes as requested.
I don’t see my school listed under board
Scroll down to the bottom of the page to the blue box that states “Don't see your school in this list? Click here to register”. Click on ‘click here’ and follow the prompts to input your school information and contact information.
The program says my school is already registered, what do I do?
There is only one certification application per school. Contact your EcoSchools board rep for more information on who registered your school.
Are there any deadlines for certification?
In order to be eligible for certification, you must input the results of the initial EcoReviews by January 31, 2010. After January 31st, registration is closed, but your school can continue to complete the application to reflect its accomplishments until April 30th, 2010 (your board may set an earlier deadline).
If your school does not register and input the results of the initial EcoReviews by January 31, 2010, you can not apply for certification this year.
Can more than one person input data to our school’s application?
Yes, anyone who has the Sign In email address/password combination for your school can input data into the certification application. We do not recommend that more than one person use the application at the same time.
How many times can I sign in to my school’s application?
You and your colleagues and students can sign in to the application as many times as needed prior to the application deadline of April 30, 2010. Only one application per school may be created, and only one Sign In email address/password can be assigned to each application.
Is there a cost to certify my school?
If you are a public or Catholic school, there is no cost to register or certify your school. The Ontario EcoSchools program is free-of-charge for publicly funded schools. Information on private school certification costs is here.
