Elanor has worked in environmental education for over ten years. At Ontario EcoSchools she has fostered partnerships with stakeholders to enhance access to environmental learning and action in Ontario schools. Elanor’s Masters Degree focused on engaging youth in urban agriculture, while her B.Ed in Outdoor Ecological and Experiential Education supported her passion for student engagement, ecological literacy and outdoor experiential education. Tania developed her passion for youth engagement as an EcoTeam leader at high school and university. After completing her Honours BES at the University of Waterloo, she spent two months cycling across the Maritimes and two years travelling North America delivering workshops in over 150 schools. Tania is pursuing her Master in Philanthropy and Nonprofit Leadership at Carleton University. She is a geek for anything related to data, design, and innovation.

Michelle has over seven years of Administrative experience working in a variety of industries but her passion has always been for environmental issues, as evidenced by her education in Environmental Science, Policy, and Practice. She is dedicated to exploring the link between inner (mental) pollution and external (environmental) pollution. Michelle does her utmost to reduce her environmental footprint and leads by example and education to help others do the same.
Theresa Ramirez | Research and Data Analyst

Theresa has a background in finance but has always had a passion for the environment and sustainability. After working within corporations to increase environmental awareness, she is very happy to be able to work for Ontario EcoSchools. She has an Honours BSc. in Mathematics from the University of Liverpool and a Certificate in Business Analysis from the University of Toronto. She is passionate about social equality and uses her stand-up comedy connections to promote awareness and raise funds for local housing initiatives.
Melissa Benner | Communications Manager

Melissa’s interest in sustainability emerged from her farming roots and continues strong here in the city. Through a Master’s Degree in Communications and freelance writing, she has honed her passion for storytelling. As an educator, she has facilitated workshops with people of all ages and backgrounds. Over the past seven years, Melissa has consulted with a range of environmental and food-related non-profit organizations, and was a founding member of the West End Food Co-op.

With a background in urban planning, environmental studies, and public outreach Sarah is always looking for ways to integrate these interests to contribute to lively and healthy communities. She is keen on exploring what the environmental not-for-profit sector can accomplish through community-rooted work and focused her Master’s research on the under-rated cycling infrastructures of advocacy, education, and programming.

With over 15 years of local and international experience in environmental education, Lindsay has partnered with diverse stakeholders to develop programs that increase awareness of global issues while supporting local solutions. Holding degrees in Environmental Studies and Biology, and a Master of Education, Lindsay focuses on facilitating meaningful engagement, cultivating collaborative initiatives and deepening ecological literacy among educators and learners. Lindsay is passionate about creating spaces where people authentically connect with nature.
Kelly De Fogain | French-Language Program Manager

Prior to joining the Ontario EcoSchools team, Kelly worked for over four years at Earth Day Canada supporting their French-language program in translation and as a coordinator. Kelly has an Honours BA in Translation and Political Sciences at Glendon College-York University and actively campaigns on social issues such as poverty and hunger. Kelly is also the chair of the Afropolitan Week of Fashion and Arts, an organization that promotes the work of young designers in Toronto.

Sierra is committed to creating healthy, happy, and equitable communities, with an emphasis on environmental education. She has developed and managed a variety of programs for students, teachers, and community members. Sierra earned a Bachelor of Environmental Studies from York University and a BEd. from OISE to serve as the foundation for doing what she loves. Sierra continues to develop her approach to teaching while maintaining a dedication to experiential and anti-oppressive education.

Josh has over a decade of experience in educational program management and delivery. With a passion for science and the environment, Josh is committed to building a more environmentally sustainable future. Josh has a BSc in Physical Geography and Biology from Trent University and a BEd from York University. He has participated in national and international research projects focusing on the impact of Climate Change on high-arctic regions. He is an avid gardener who has managed urban agriculture projects across the GTA and Alberta.

She is committed to promoting environmental stewardship in northwestern Ontario and uses her degrees in Outdoor Ecological & Experiential Education and Outdoor Recreation, Parks & Tourism to ground her work. Aynsley is passionate about connecting students with community and land-based learning opportunities.
